Welcome flow
After encouraging users to opt in to your mobile app’s push notifications, the next step is to focus on keeping those subscribers engaged. Retaining your push audience requires demonstrating the value of staying opted in. With NAPPS, you can use Klaviyo to create an automated push welcome series that immediately shows users why enabling your app’s notifications is worthwhile.
Setting up this automated series in Klaviyo helps reinforce the benefits of your app, highlight key features, and build early engagement. In this guide, we’ll walk you through how to create and configure this automated push welcome flow for your NAPPS mobile app inside your Klaviyo account.
Steps
Let's start by creating a segment for your clients. Click in "Audience" and then "List and Segment" on the left side of your screen.
On the top right corner click in "Create a new" and then in "New segment".
After the page is open, give it a name. You can use, for example, "New customers".
To start categorizing your customers, you need to create conditions for them to enter in that specific group. The property used is "What someone has done (or not done)".
Then, you should select that the person has "opened app equals 1 over all time".
Click in "Create segment".
After the segment done, you need to create a flow. Click on the flows section, on the left side of your screen.
Start by selecting 'Build your own' and again 'Build your own' on the top right corner of your page
Enter the name of your push flow, then select 'Create Flow'
Select the trigger that need to be done to start this flow. Click in "All triggers".
After, click in "Added to segment".
Select the segment you have just created and save it on the bottom of your screen.
Now that the segment is added to your flow, you should determine how long after they are added to your segment, the flow should stard. Drag the "Timing" component to your flow and define after the time you prefer.

In this case we advice after 5 minutes.
After the timing is defined, drag the action "Push Notification" to your flow. This will allow you to define which push you want to send to welcome new customers. Click in edit to start writting it.
Define the type between a standard notification or a silent one, the title and the message's body. You can use emojis, images and personalizations like the customer's first name.
We trully advice you to use personalization, to make customers more engaged.
In the behaviors section, choose to open the app.
Turn your push notifications live.
Click in "Update status" and select it as live.
