Klaviyo Tips

Find out all the small tips to help you improve your push notifications on Klaviyo.

Written by Nuno Batista

NAPPS integrates natively with Klaviyo to power push notifications for your store's mobile app. However, there is a known limitation in Klaviyo: when setting up a push notification, the only call-to-action available is to open the app. Klaviyo does not natively allow you to direct customers to a specific page inside the app when they tap the notification.

At NAPPS, we found a workaround for this. By enabling the Deep Link option in your NAPPS Dashboard and combining it with Klaviyo's CTA deep link URL field, you can send customers directly to the exact product or collection your notification is promoting, instead of just dropping them on the home screen.

There is also a second benefit to enabling deep links: customers who click a link to your store from Google, an email, or social media will be automatically redirected into the native app if they already have it installed, rather than landing on the mobile website.

This guide walks you through how to set it all up.

Step 1 - Go to App Options

Log in to your NAPPS Dashboard. In the left-hand navigation menu, click on App Options.

Step 2 - Enable the Deep Link toggle

Inside App Options, find the Deep Link setting and turn the toggle on. Once active, your app will be registered to intercept links pointing to your store's domain.

After enabling this, this feature only be available after 48 hours.

Step 3 - Open your push notification in Klaviyo

In Klaviyo, navigate to the campaign or flow containing the push notification you want to configure and open the message editor.

Step 4 - Find the Call-to-Action (CTA) section

Inside the editor, locate the Call-to-Action or On Tap Action section. This controls what happens when a customer taps the notification. Klaviyo only allows one type of CTA for push notifications — opening the app — but you can control exactly where in the app the customer lands.

Step 5 - Select "Deep Link" as the CTA type

In the CTA options, select Deep Link (may also appear as Custom URL depending on your Klaviyo version).

Step 6 - Paste the URL of the product or collection you are promoting

In the deep link URL field, enter the full URL of the product page or collection page your notification is about. Use your store's standard Shopify URL.

NAPPS handles the routing inside the app automatically.

Step 7 - Save and send a test notification

Save your changes and send a test notification to your own device before launching to your full audience. Confirm the app opens directly on the correct product or collection page.

What to expect

Once everything is set up, customers who tap your push notification will land directly on the product or collection you are promoting — no extra steps, no searching. The result is a smoother purchase journey and a higher chance of conversion.
